Johnnie was our guide/interpreter/science expert for our 3week wildlife tour in Uganda and Rwanda. By the 3rd day, I thought we had seen so many things and there was not much left. But it just kept getting better and better. So many animals, Johnnie always knew the best time and place, and we also saw the animals few people see, like leopard. He truly has the eyes of an eagle, pointing out things we could not have seen without him. But his real expertise is birding. He is just unbelievable at seeing and identifying birds, whether in a bush or on the fly. And he is doing this while driving down very bumpy roads. It was obvious during our travels, as we met other guides or travel industry folks, that Johnnie is very respected and the leader. Many a time we saw others coming to him for help, and he was always willing to take his off time to take them out for training. Johnnie was more than a guide; he was a friend, a historian, and a concierge. It was like he had ESP, he knew what we wanted before we asked. We always felt safe, he knew someone everywhere we went and knew all the dialects and languages. We were never at a loss. I have been all over the world and in so many countries. But my 3 weeks with Johnnie, was the best trip of my life, and I will do it again."
