It was my great pleasure to enjoy a 3week safari in Uganda. The driver/guide was JOHNNIE KAMUGISHA. He is, unquestionably, one of the most extraordinary people I've ever met. As a driver and navigator Johnnie was flawless. He drove carefully but expeditiously over very difficult Roads and terrain, often making on the spot repairs to keep us going to the next town and garage. His knowledge of wildlife, generally, is extensive. We saw 4 leopards that he spotted and then got us close without spooking them. He knew just when and where to find lions which other guides we ran into seemed clueless about. However, Johnnie's forte is birds and I've never met anyone with such an uncanny ability to spot and identify birds. He is utterly passionate about this aspect of his work and his enthusiasm is contagious. Lastly, Johnnie is a wonderful human being smart, caring and with a fine sense of humor. I would go on another safari with him in a heartbeat.
