This is a letter of reference for Johnny Kamugisha. During the three weeks in February and March 98, Johnny was the driver of a vehicle we hired from Delmira Travel and tours in Kampala, Uganda. We were working with the Ugandan and Kenyan Ministries of Health on a project investigating an epidemic of Rift Valley Fever Virus. In the course of this project, we need to travel to remote areas and work in rather difficult, sometimes dangerous situations. In addition to being a professional and capable driver, Johnny Kamugisha perfomed many other tasks and contributed significantly to the success of our project. His knowledge of several local languages allowed him to assit as an able interpreter. Without this assistance, we would not have been able to gain access to several important areas. He also assisted in obtaining blood samples from cattle and from villagers in the study areas, assisted in recording data, and offered valuable advice. In summary, Johnny Kamugisha tirelessly, and even cheerfully, worked very long days, and willingly used his many talents to assist us in accomplishing our tasks. I have no reservations in giving Johnny my highest recommendation and I have no doubt that anyone using his services will be equally pleased and impressed. Roger S. Nasci, Ph. D.
